Solar Power, Inc. reported earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2008. Net sales for the quarter increased 70.9% to approximately $5,833,000 from approximately $3,414,000 for the three months ended March 31, 2007. Net loss for the first quarter of 2008 was $2,778,000, or $0.07 per share, compared to a net loss of approximately $1,076,000, or $0.03 per share, in the first quarter of 2007. Basic and diluted loss per common share was $0.07 against $0.03 for the same period a year ago. The Company revised its revenue guidance downward from $60 million to $36 million for 2008. As previously announced, the Santa Rosa City School District voted not to proceed with a project designed to place more than 3 megawatts of on-site solar electricity production at 10 of the district´s 30 schools.
